Gateway is a significant economic generator and active community partner in the City of Langley
Mayor Ted SchafferLangley, BC
It’s a first-class facility and a fantastic addition to the City. On the economic side, it was a $25 million dollar construction job, staff doubling in size to over 300 jobs, and $100 million in host city revenues over the next 40 years. It also creates an entertainment hub in the area by providing some exciting dining and entertainment options for anyone heading off to the SOEC or the Convention Centre

The Grand Villa and Delta Hotels Burnaby has become a very successful entertainment and accommodation venue in our city. I know that customers and visitors will welcome the many new attractions this renovation will enable – and that Burnaby citizens will enjoy both the new venues and the economic benefits and jobs the renovation will provide. Congratulations to the Grand Villa and Delta Hotels on their ongoing success in our community.
Mayor Derek CorriganBurnaby, BC
We are very pleased with the confidence of Gateway Casinos to choose Campbell River as the next community to make a significant investment in. The addition of the MATCH Eatery & Public House with a fantastic patio area will bring added vibrancy and options for downtown, and the additional jobs and gaming will provide added economic stimulus to Campbell River and our ‘Downtown Refresh’ initiatives.

‎The significant investment happening at Chances Courtenay is great news for the local economy and workforce in the Comox Valley. In addition, each year the City of Courtenay receives hundreds of thousands of dollars through gaming funds raised at Chances Courtenay, and these funds are used to support community initiatives that benefit the entire Comox Valley, such as public safety, arts and culture, and infrastructure. This redevelopment project will benefit our community in many ways, and we congratulate Chances Courtenay on this major announcement.

Gateway Unveils Brand for Planned $70 Million Investment, Will Create up to 700 New Jobs

Cascades Casino Delta to Feature New, Exciting Dining and Entertainment Options

April 26, 2018, Delta, BC – Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited (“Gateway”) announced today that, subject to necessary approvals and the completion of a land lease agreement, its proposed $70 million entertainment destination at the Town & Country Inn site (6005 Hwy 17A), will be branded Cascades Casino. The proposed new entertainment facility would include up to 500 slots and 24 table games, and feature Gateway’s signature restaurant brands MATCH Eatery & Public House, ATLAS Steak + Fish and The Buffet. Subject to necessary approvals, the new casino will open in 2020.

Today’s brand announcement hosted at the Delta Chamber of Commerce office was attended by a number of local leaders including Dave Hamilton (Immediate Past Chair, Delta Chamber of Commerce) and several chamber board members, Jane Stark (Chair, Tourism Delta), and Brad Desmarais (VP, Casino and Community Gaming, BCLC).
Central to Gateway’s success has been the development of proprietary casino and restaurant brands.  The Cascades brand is built around the design inspiration of “Play”.  The new property would be fun and approachable, a full-service local entertainment destination with a casual ambiance, but with the scale and amenities associated with a big-city entertainment facility with exceptional customer service and attention to detail.  Gateway has successfully launched the Cascades brand in Langley, Kamloops and Penticton, BC.  The first Cascades Casino in Ontario will begin construction in Chatham-Kent this spring.

“The proposed $70 million investment in Delta would bring up to 700 new jobs and careers to the area when we open, and millions in economic spin-offs throughout construction and beyond.  We look forward to bringing this state of-the-art entertainment destination to this rapidly growing community,” said Tony Santo, Gateway’s CEO.

“The Delta Chamber of Commerce supports Gateway’s proposed gaming and entertainment complex because of its anticipated positive impact on business in Delta and strong economic benefit for our community as a whole,” said Dave Hamilton, Immediate Past Chair at the Delta Chamber of Commerce.

The project was first announced last September when BCLC provided Gateway with preliminary approval of the Town & Country site as the preferred location.  Since that time, Gateway have been actively engaged in the community, hosting multiple open houses, attending community events, and participating in three city-led public information sessions.  The proposed new facility in Delta is expected to go before Council this spring for approval.  Subject to required approvals and completion of the land lease agreement, the company hopes to begin construction this summer.

“We remain committed to continuing our engagement with the residents of Delta to ensure they have all the information they need to make an informed decision about the proposed entertainment facility coming to their community,” said Tony Santo.

Gateway’s signature brand MATCH Eatery & Public House combines the welcoming and social traditions of a neighbourhood pub with the high energy and excitement of a sports bar. Whether it’s the big game, a family celebration or just a social gathering with friends, MATCH Eatery & Public House provides a casual, upbeat atmosphere ideal for any occasion. The Buffet equally complements the MATCH experience with an emphasis on exceptional value and an ever-changing menu highlighting cuisine from around the world with something for every age and appetite. While ATLAS Steak + Fish is a flirtatious and modern twist on the iconic North American steakhouse. You can sip and savour in a warm and casually elegant ambiance as you are served with a stylish approach to hospitality and remarkable cuisine.

A commitment to responsible gambling is integral to how Gateway operates in British Columbia including BCLC’s GameSense program.  All Gateway properties in BC and Ontario hold RG Check accreditation. Together with BCLC and other government partners, Gateway will continue to implement responsible gambling initiatives at all properties across Canada.
