Cascades Casino Delta Will Feature New, Exciting Dining and Entertainment Options and Will Create up to 700 New Jobs
November 13, 2018, Delta, BC – Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited (“Gateway”) is pleased to announce today that, all necessary regulatory approvals on its proposed $70 million entertainment destination, Cascades Casino Delta, to be located at the old Town & Country Inn site (6005 Hwy 17A), have been received. Earlier this morning, The British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) issued a news release stating they have provided The City of Delta with final approval on the new gaming and entertainment facility.
The new Cascades Casino Delta will include up to 500 slots and 24 table games, and feature Gateway’s signature restaurant brands Match Eatery & Public House, Atlas Steak + Fish and The Buffet. The new casino is expected to open in 2020.
The Cascades brand is built around the design inspiration of “Play”. The new property will be a full-service local entertainment destination with a casual ambiance, but with the scale and amenities associated with a big-city entertainment facility with exceptional customer service and attention to detail. Gateway has successfully launched the Cascades brand in Langley, Kamloops and Penticton, BC. The first Cascades Casino in Ontario has recently begun construction in Chatham-Kent.
“We look forward to bringing this state of-the-art entertainment destination to such a rapidly growing and dynamic community. Through our investment of $70 million in Delta we will bring up to 700 new jobs and careers to the area and significant economic spin-offs during the construction and beyond,” said Tony Santo, Gateway’s CEO.
The project was first announced last September when BCLC provided Gateway with preliminary approval of the Town & Country site as the preferred location. Throughout the subsequent process, Gateway actively engaged in the community, through multiple open houses, community events, stakeholder presentations and participation in public information sessions. The proposal went before Council in the spring where it received City approval.
“Throughout this process we have worked closely with our partners at BCLC and The City of Delta. I would like to thank them for their thoughtful diligence throughout this process,” said Santo. “As well, I’d like to thank everyone in the community that attended the open houses, presentations, and the public hearing earlier this year. Your input was invaluable and has continued to enhance the project.”
Now that all necessary regulatory approvals have been received Gateway will turn their attention to the completion of all design works, site preparations and the commencement of construction which is set to begin in the New Year pending the finalization of the land arrangements with the landowners.
The new Cascades Casino will feature three of Gateway’s signature brands. Match Eatery & Public House combines the welcoming and social traditions of a neighbourhood pub with the high energy and excitement of a sports bar. Whether it’s the big game, a family celebration or just a social gathering with friends, Match Eatery & Public House provides a casual, upbeat atmosphere ideal for any occasion. The Buffet equally complements the Match experience with an emphasis on exceptional value and an ever-changing menu highlighting cuisine from around the world with something for every age and appetite. While Atlas Steak + Fish is a flirtatious and modern twist on the iconic North American steakhouse. You can sip and savour in a warm and casually elegant ambiance as you are served with a stylish approach to hospitality and remarkable cuisine.
A commitment to responsible gambling is integral to how Gateway operates in British Columbia including BCLC’s GameSense program. All Gateway properties in BC and Ontario hold RG Check accreditation. Together with BCLC and other government partners, Gateway will continue to implement responsible gambling initiatives at all properties across Canada.
